Review for a World Cruise Cruise on Silver Wind

It seemed to be an organised shed, but we were directed through the port pretty quickly so didn't really see much of the port. It seemed a very busy and large port. ...

Seabourn has made embarkation own Buenos Aires like a jet set . incredible , in Buenos Aires there was 2 very large ships Costa and Holland. there must of been more than 3000 people at the same time embarking and it truly took less than 15 minutes to be in my cabin thanks to seabourn coordination ...

Review for a South America Cruise on Oosterdam

2-5 Cruises • Age 70s

Buenos Aires was exciting and fun. We went to a tango show and excellent lunch, toured the historical sights of the city, and also a suburban area outside of the city. It was an excellent experience. We arrived a day early and also attended a concert held by the Teatro Colon in a large pavilion in a "State Fair" pavilion. ...

The currency situation in Argentina is awful, with several different exchange rates. Argentinian pesos were not available on the ship, presumably because of this. And public transportation requires a sube card (you must get at select train stations, etc. and then go to another place to put money on it and they only accept Argentinean pesos in cash, nothing else)--so we didn't do anything but go ...

Buenos Aires is a big, big city. We booked the pre-cruise package through Holland America, so all transfers and tours wee handled. The hotel (Sofitel) was perfectly acceptable. Many parts of Buenos Aires harken back to the 1800s, and are beautiful and graceful in a European way. Others are graffiti covered hovels, while still others are chrome and glass modern structures. All can exist in the ...

Review for a South America Cruise on Norwegian Star

We arrived a few days ahead of the cruise. We prearraged and paid for transfers to and from the airport and cruise port through Welcome Pickups, so we never needed to convert dollars to pesos, and never had to wait in line for a taxi or worry about taxi scams. The drivers were all on time and spoke some english. We stayed in the Arc Recoleta hotel, about a 15 min drive from the cruise port. ...

This port was actually in the freight port. When we exited the ship we boarded buses to take us to the passenger terminal. It was all handled quite well and very quickly. We stayed at a hotel across from the Obelisk. Our side of the street had lots of American franchise restaurants and some gift shops. The other side of the street was pretty much all boarded up with a lot of people lying ...

We spent a few days ahead of the cruise in Buenos Aires. We didn't realize until a couple of days before leaving that we would be there during the 2022 World Cup final with Argentina vs. France. That was quite an experience. While we were able to see some sights, the World Cup basically took over our trip as 2 of our 3 days were public holidays, shutting down public transportation and sights and ...
