Good and bad experiences

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Zaandam

First Time Cruiser • Age 53s

The Tracy Arm Inlet excursion was amazing. Highly recommend. I saw two black bears, coastal mountain goats, harbor seals, steller seals, many whales, and a large variety of birds-- not to mention gorgeous terrain. The Skagway/Whitepass Train, however, is really only for those who have not lived in mountainous states such as Montana, Colorado, and Oregon. The train tour guides were great, but I ...

Butlins on steroids at sea

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Ventura

Baywatch Babe
2-5 Cruises • Age 46s

We booked this with 3 other couples 2 of these had not cruised before. We are aged between 38 and 49. The intention was a taster of cruising. The attraction was the overnight stay in Amsterdam. I had been on Ventura 10 years ago with my family and had a great time. The ship has held up well given its age. First opinion on boarding was pleasant and well organised. Staff at Southampton were ...

Never again Celebrity

Review for a Alaska Cruise on Celebrity Solstice

2-5 Cruises • Age 49s

We both walked off the ship with Covid, causing us to lose the rest of our vacation. Beware. Staff lack basic hygiene. Cabin was dirty in arrival, buffet was disgusting with serving spoon handles falling into food and being left there. Food was the same as in the crew mess when I used to work on ships. Every day unappetizing vegetables - the same for lunch and dinner, big chunks of sweet potato ...

NO Princess Cays

Review for a Bahamas Cruise on Carnival Sunshine

10+ Cruises • Age 66s

Review of Carnival Sunshine We booked this cruise for a first-time cruise for our grandchildren in June of 2024. We were excited about Princess Cays. The cruise was to stop in Nassau and Princess Cays. Due to rough seas, we were unable to Dock at princes Cay. Our second day at Sea it rained off and on most of the day. NO compensation was given for the missing port of call. I have been on ...

A So-So Cruise at Best

Review for a Canada & New England Cruise on Volendam

10+ Cruises • Age 79s

After 10 cruises with HA we were eager for #11. Unfortunately our cabin had a continuing awful sewerage smell that maintenance could not eliminate. We were offered the “only” available room as an option— Deck 1 interior at stern. We declined and kept our original room and stayed out as much as possible. At night we had the balcony door open a couple of inches for fresh air which made the smell ...

Surprisingly great time on the MSC Magnifica!

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on MSC Magnifica

10+ Cruises • Age 81s

This was our 8th MSC cruise, and based on past experiences, we had rather low expectations for the Magnifica. However, we were very pleasantly surprised, and thought this was our best MSC cruise ever. MSC has listened to the complaints and changed the muster drill to be similar to that of Royal Caribbean. They have also hired an American Cruise Director, and overall have tried very hard to ...

Review for a Caribbean - Southern Cruise on Adventure of the Seas

Chris Dalrymple
2-5 Cruises • Age 55s

We booked a balcony, got the lowest level room with a porthole. Room smells like a combination of body odor and smoke, toilet rarely flushes, sometimes it will, sometimes 10 minutes later, and sometimes it is hours later.. drying our hair the second night set off alarms in our rooms for with security coming letting us know her body back was on. We have lots of business cards, time wasted in line ...

Review for a Caribbean - Western Cruise on Mariner of the Seas

10+ Cruises • Age 41s

If you want to feel like cattle being herded and like standing in lines then this is your cruise. Royal Carribeans model is pack them in and see how much we can get out of them once they are on. I mean $17 cocktail with a mandatory 22% tip with an additional tip line? Give me a break. Then you have all the drink package people who are desperately trying to get their moneys worth and vomiting ...

Never will sail with NCL again

Review for a Europe - British Isles & Western Cruise on Norwegian Getaway

2-5 Cruises • Age 46s

On the ship now and grateful we only have a few more days. For my family of 5, this has been a terrible experience. We took our 14 year d daughter to the clinic to make sure she didn’t have appendicitis and got a bill for $2,500!! All they did was a simple blood and urine test and told us it would cost $149 for her to be seen. Also, the food has been below average to average at best. The ...
