mom’s 80th birthday trip was ruined.

Review for a Europe - Greek Isles Cruise on Galileo

Greece > Jewels of the Cyclades > Galileo > 4 passengers > Oct 18-25 2024 -------------------- Variety Cruise appears to support a culture of safety and comfort violations, false advertising, and doing the bare minimum possible. Specifically, the Galileo ship, Captain, Hotel Manager and Tour Director. Our mom’s 80th birthday trip was ruined. -------------------- FALSE: “SAFETY & ...

Seriously tired ship and a terrible experience

Review for a Europe - Greek Isles Cruise on Galileo

We have traveled extensively on small boat cruises and I can say this was one of our worst experiences. Our cabin reeked of sewage and our carpeting & all towels and shower curtain were badly stained and mildewed. The food was truly terrible and we had very limited meal choices. Breakfast was slow to be served and mediocre. Coffee was undrinkable. The dinners were worst of all; a short buffet of ...

Did not live up to my expectations

Review for a Europe - Greek Isles Cruise on Galileo

The crew were all very nice, and Valeria, Avi and Muhammed in particular gave us great service. The food was good. I was disappointed that our itinerary, which had to be changed because of weather, had only one swim stop and no opportunities to swim off the boat, which I had been expecting. My biggest problem with the cruise was that when the toilet vacuum system on the lower deck broke on the ...

From the moment we stepped onto the Galileo, we were met with friendly, smiling faces and great service. You could want for nothing as they say, every request was met with pleasure! Really really fantastic crew! Great safety briefing, made fun despite its serious nature, so everyone was engaged and listening to the importance of it. The ship itself was in very good condition, with spacious ...

The Beauty of the Greek Islands

Our first small ship experience when we travelled the Cyclades islands during Easter week. The ship is more like a yacht: there's no swimming pool, spa or theatre. However, it has a comfortable lounge and the sun deck, which is the entire length or the ship, is furnished with chairs and tables and sun loungers. Blankets were appreciated for nights spent star gazing. We loved how the crew ...

Small ships rule the seas!

Review for a Europe - Greek Isles Cruise on Galileo

Forget those behemoth cruise ships with thousands of passengers. Traveling by small ship is the only way to go. This is our second small ship cruise, and it was terrific! The ports we sailed to were excellent. Our favorite island was Syros. We also enjoyed the intimacy of the ship, having only 34 adult guests (capacity was 49), we got to know most of the people very well. We made some good ...

Friends recommended this cruise to us and it didn't disappoint. We absolutely loved it and we met the most fabulous people who we will hopefully see again one day. We were the only Australian/ New Zealanders on the cruise, there was a huge variety of nationalities, couples and singles from America, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Spain, Argentina, England, Scotland, we met a few really fabulous ...

We bought this cruise in a benefit auction for Aces In Motion, a non-profit in Gainesville, Florida which teaches tennis to help develop life skills and character in teenagers who want a better life!. We were delayed 3 times by covid and once by Variety but the timing of the trip 3 Nov 2022 couldn't have been more perfect. The weather did reroute us to Messalinghi which turned out to be an amazing ...

We absolutely loved our cruise. It was our very first cruise experience and it was perfect. The staff was amazing. They went above an beyond. They remembered every preference and were so helpful and enthusiastic. We really enjoyed the swim stops. Seeing only the sea and a remote, uninhabited island was so fun. The crew was great about safety and getting us to and from shore. The ...

Worst cruise ever

Review for a Greece Cruise on Galileo

Let me list the points: 1) Accommodation - we paid for a cat A cabin and on arrival were shown to a cabin with twin beds. We argued that we booked a double but manager just shrugged shoulders and said boat was full which turned out to be a complete lie. Met the couple opposite us and they had been booked into cat B and then decided they didn't like the cabin and were given an upgrade (at a ...
